A little story about how moondune came to be
It began with a question
When I moved to the UAE, skincare was everywhere- endless choices, brands from everywhere promising everything.
But in conversations with women around me, a different story kept repeating itself. Skin that once felt balanced suddenly became dry, sensitive, unpredictable. Breakouts appeared without reason.
Something wasn’t working.
Living here, skin moves between extremes every single day: intense heat, humidity, strong sun, then hours inside cold air conditioning. Over time, the skin barrier quietly weakens. Yet most of what we use is created for completely different climates. That realization sparked a simple idea:skincare should understand where you live.
We began by focusing on barrier health first, creating climate-intelligent formulas inspired by the resilience of desert nature and designed for skin learning to adapt to life in the Middle East.
Building with Intention
The brand name :
Moondune is inspired by early dune dwellers who worshipped the moon who were nomadic in nature.
In many ways, we are all modern nomads, constantly moving, adapting, and finding belonging in new places.
The brand color :
Purple comes from a regional tradition where royalty is welcomed on purple carpets -a symbol of warmth and arrival. For us, it became a quiet message of hospitality: this is your skin's home, and you are welcome here.
The brand philosophy :
Desert Arabic ingredients reflect resilience. In some of the harshest climates on earth, desert flora grows deeply nourished and hydrated, surviving by strengthening and protecting itself - the same philosophy behind our barrier-first skincare.
Formulas created in South Korea
By expert labs who understood that Middle East needs tailor made formulations. We’re grateful to have partnered with labs who have gone beyond and more to source ingredients that are Arabic in nature, used their strong R&D to create fast absorb formulas using new age and hi tech bio-scientific ingredients. They also tested the final formula for high heat exposure and climates similar to the Middle East.
